Dr. Dina Bascharon
Carrying the Legacy Forward - Medical Director | Senior Veterinarian
At Oak Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Dina Bascharon represents both the heart and future of the practice—carrying forward her father’s legacy while advancing modern, relationship-centered veterinary medicine.
Growing up within the hospital, Dr. Dina learned early that great medicine is built on trust, consistency, and compassion. One lesson that continues to guide her work comes from her father’s favorite saying:
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
This philosophy became the foundation of her approach to care and inspired the development of Pawsitive Longevity®—an emphasis on prevention, early detection, comfort, and thoughtful decision-making over a lifetime.
Dr. Dina practices medicine with intention, focusing on helping families make informed choices before problems become crises. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, senior pet care, chronic disease management, and client education.
She is known for taking time to listen, explaining options clearly, and tailoring recommendations to each pet’s unique needs and each family’s values.
Above all, Dr. Dina believes veterinary medicine is a relationship—not a transaction.
Her goal is for every client to feel heard, every pet to feel safe, and every medical decision to reflect both science and heart.
Growing up within Oak Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Dina Bascharon witnessed firsthand the power of relationship-centered veterinary care. Inspired by her father’s commitment to prevention and trust, she has carried those values forward—while evolving the practice to meet the needs of modern pets and families.
As Medical Director, Dr. Dina blends advanced diagnostics, evidence-based medicine, and individualized care plans with a deeply personal approach to veterinary medicine. Her vision gave rise to Pawsitive Longevity®, a philosophy focused on helping pets live longer, healthier, and more comfortable lives through proactive, thoughtful care.
Under her leadership, Oak Park Animal Hospital continues to grow—without ever losing the personal touch that has defined it for generations.
